My name is Amanda Arroyo. I am a Nutrition and Wellness Consultant, certified by AFPA. I offer healthy meal plans and specifically help families with differing diets, whatever they may be. Plus the richness of the avocado and then making a nut/date crust makes it to where you really don't need much else. I also have the recipe being a gluten free nut/date crust! To follow up with my post last week, High Blood Pressure is one of the top concerns of people who have taken my Free Nutrition Assessment (link to it is in the bio 😉) whether they have high blood pressure or it is in the family. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Since salt/sodium can be a key factor for heart health and maintaining healthy blood pressure, I wanted to share what labels on foods mean when they label something as "low sodium" or "sodium free". Know what is being marketed to you. It's so easy to over-do it with sodium with the foods we have available, it's important to know what you are buying. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ One label that I'll share with you is one that I think is the trickiest if you are not a nutrition label reader. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 🏷️"No Salt Added" or "Unsalted": This means that no salt was added during processing. Which might help, but that doesn't mean that the other ingredients or foods in the package you are looking at had sodium in them to begin with. New recipe post on the blog! Asian inspired drink. Ginger Kombucha with Lime and Cilantro. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I originally did this as a Kombucha version of a Moscow Mule. I had some cilantro around, because lime and cilantro always have a place in my house, and I decided to crush some up and add it to my drink. I love cilantro and love having herbs in my drinks in spring and summer. Super refreshing! If you're not a fan, don't worry about the cilantro.
